ST KATHERINE INAUGURATES CRF INSTITUTE (CRFI)
RELIGIOUS FREEDOM SUBSCRIPTION SERIES IN NAPLES
Registration is open for the Christian Rights & Freedom Institute’s (CRFI) Inaugural Season Subscription Series of lectures and special events on religious freedom, it was announced today by Fr. Philemon Patitsas, Presiding Priest at St. Katherine Greek Orthodox Church, Naples. The Christian Rights & Freedom Institute is an ecumenical inter-Christian body that advocates and educates on the areas of religious liberty and Christian persecution. Membership is open to everyone regardless of their faith orientation.
Subscriptions to CRFI events are open to the public. The speaker series will be kicked off by Fr. Philemon on November 19 at 7 p.m. in the St. Katherine Cultural Hall, 7100 Airport Pulling Road, Naples; his topic will be We are a Republic not a Democracy – Implications for Religious Liberty.
The series will include: BBC documentary Islam – the Untold Story, presented by Tom Holland on Dec. 3; Christian Unity on Matters of Religious Liberty – Being a Disciple of Christ in “Your Jerusalem“, by Bill Marianes, Esq. on December 10; Religion & Journalism – Delivering our Message through Mainstream Media, by Thalia Assuras, former ABC & CBS television anchor & correspondent, on January 7; What Mother Teresa Taught Me About Faith-based Initiatives – The Power of the Poor by James Towey, President of Ave Maria University, on January 14; Mt. Athos – Bastion of Christian Preservation, by Fr. Christodolous Papadeas on February 4; Ethical Justification for Christian Rights & Freedom by Dr. Timothy Patitsas, Social Ethicist & Theologian, Holy Cross Seminary, on March 10*; Finding Answers in International Forums, Including The European Court of Human Rights by Dr. Andrew Ekonomou, Esq. on March 11*; a major policy address by Jay Sekulow, Esq., Chief Counsel of the American Center for Law and Justice on March 12*; and Lessons Learned from Modern Genocides in cooperation with the Holocaust Museum of SWFL on April 9.
A Season Subscription, which includes a total of 10 events from November to April, is $40 per person and $60 per couple. Admission to a single event without subscription is $10 at the door. Subscription member benefits include admission to all 10 CRFI events ($130 value, $260 per couple), admission to all 2nd annual National CRF Symposium Events March 10-12, 2016 ($30 value) including the keynote speaker Jay Sekulow*, priority seating for events, and invitations to any and all special ‘meet & greet’ receptions. Subscribers should present their card when issued at each event. Volunteers will be on hand that evening to process new subscriptions. Credit cards are accepted.

Father Philemon Patitsas was educated at the Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology and the Harvard Kennedy School. Fr. Philemon has championed St. Katherine’s effort to take a more vibrant stand in the public arena in the areas of religious liberty, Christian outreach and evangelism. In addition to spearheading the development of the Christian Rights & Freedom Ministry, he is a member of the Pan-Orthodox Brotherhood of Southwest Florida, is a founding member of Salt & Light Advisory Council (a Naples, FL based Inter-Christian collaboration of Trinitarian churches on ethical and moral issues), serves on the board of the Orthodox Christian Mission Center (OCMC), and is a member of the Harvard Club of Naples and Naples Council on World Affairs.
