Digital Disciple Scholarship Program

Media Lab

MEET 2016-2017 OCN Digital Disciples  Anberintheophani     The purpose is to train our future ministry leaders to use multi-media resources as another tool in spreading the Gospel.  Students from both the College and Graduate School promote current issues related to the Orthodox Faith, Christian Persecution, and cover Orthodox News and events on campus.  This OCN Digital Disciple program is part of the Hellenic College Holy Cross (HCHC) Work-Study Program, which allows flexible hours for student work on campus in addition to attending classes.  We have teamed up with other Orthodox Ministries to bring the best of Orthodoxy worldwide.  It operates throughout the school year, and is centered at the OCN Media Ministry Lab.  Communications affects how people feel about our company, programs, and services. It’s something that we take seriously.

Today’s technology can make everything seem possible and has the power to reach across the globe from the small campus of HCHC.  The Digital Disciple Scholarship Program trains the next generation to use the tools before them, that most interact with on a daily basis.  OCN thanks the sponsors who assist with funding this program.  You can get involved in this Scholarship Fund today, too.

A very generous donation was made to fund the OCN Media Ministry Lab at Hellenic College Holy Cross by the OCN board in 2015.  Students are thrilled for this new opportunity to learn and interact with Orthodox Christians across the world, in addition to their studies.  Similar to the first disciples, our students are sharing the Gospel, but digitally via the internet.  This is how the Digital Disciples Scholarship Program came to be, beginning in the Fall Semester of 2015.The Orthodox Christian Network (OCN) has established the Digital Disciple Scholarship Program on the campus of Hellenic College Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology.

A student can apply to be a Digital Disciple for a one-year term.  Students experience the challenges and effectiveness of using various forms of media. They have the opportunity to interview speakers and guests visiting the HCHC campus, film events, and share important news with a world-wide pan-Orthodox audience via social media.  Objectives include but are not limited to all publications, web, video, audio, and graphic arts used on behalf of Orthodox Christian Network.  Working as a Digital Disciple at OCN is an opportunity for students to impact others’ lives through the transformative power of faith and the Gospel.  By witnessing the Living Word take from in the lives of those who follow the Orthodox Christian Network, students receive faith-based personal development.  For more information and how to apply, please email
