Update on Kidnapped Syrian Bishops

OCN Now: On April 22nd, two Orthodox bishops traveling near Syria’s border with Turkey were kidnapped by unknown assailants as they were conducting humanitarian work in the area.  Their driver, Fatha’Allah Kabboud, a deacon in the Syriac Orthodox Church, was shot dead. Metropolitan Boulos Yazigi, the Greek Orthodox Archbishop of Aleppo, and Metropolitan Yohanna Ibrahim, the Syriac Archbishop of Aleppo, continue to be held hostage. Join Fr. Chris as he speaks with Charles Ajalat about a bipartisan letter that asks the State Department to make the immediate release of the bishops a priority. Dealing with Immorality in the Church at Corinth

Following our Theme of “Let’s Talk About Sex,” we sometimes assume that attention to this topic is only something modern. But the Early Church also grappled with how to balance an appropriate esteem for marriage with speaking out against abuses of our God-given sexual faculties. On Special Moments in Orthodoxy, Dr. George Parsenios of Princeton Theological Seminary looks at Chapter 5 of 1st Corinthians, in which Paul deals with sexual and other types of immorality that had crept into the life of the Church at Corinth. Where is the boundary between the world and the Church in dealing with those engaged in immoral acts? How should disputes between Christians be handled?
