InSerbia News: Serbian Orthodox Church’s Website Attacked by Hackers

The official website of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Serbia has been under attack for more than a month. InSerbia News has this report:

Serbian Orthodox Church’s website attacked by hackers

BELGRADE – The Serbian Orthodox Church (SOC) said on Tuesday that its official website has been under constant hacker attack since Saturday, June 7.

“The maximum speed of the attack has reached 46 Gbps, or around ten million requests per second,” the SOC press office said in a statement, adding that the amount of data transmitted in each second of the attack against its server is slightly larger than the capacity of a 5.7 GB DVD.

By comparison, attacks of such scope can block the throughput of an Internet service provider completely, the statement said.
