Sermon Series on Philippians: Chapter Three, Living Heaven Minded

Jul 13, 2015 Comment(s) Tags: ,

In this third of a four-part series on St. Paul’s Epistle to the Philippians, Fr. Nicholas Louh reminds us that the primary theme of Philippians is JOY, a word that occurs 16 times in the Epistle. The only way to gain eternal joy is to recognize that it must be grounded in Jesus Christ. And that job comes through service to others. In Chapter Three of the epistle, St. Paul tells us to focus our mind on the life of the Kingdom of Heaven to come. We must be living Heaven Minded. Fr. Nicholas also holds up the survivors and bereaved from the tragic Charleston, SC shooting as a model of Christian witness, by their courage to forgive.
