Bill Marianes has dedicated a significant portion of the last 35 years, and every available weekend for the last 5 years, to traveling over 150,000 miles throughout the United States to work with individual church communities, clergy, and faithful to better understand and implement true stewardship in their Parishes and lives. He delivers extensive stewardship content for Parishes and individuals through his website and blog at www.stewardshipcalling.com and his Igniting The Flame Of True Christian Stewardship program. Bill is an Archon of the Ecumenical Patriarch and has served the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese and Atlanta Metropolis Councils for many years. By day, he is a partner in the Atlanta office of a 900+ lawyer international law firm and practices in the areas of corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, intellectual property, business succession planning, and church matters. By calling, he is a stewardship evangelist and can be reached at either Bill@stewardshipcalling.com or firstname.lastname@example.org.
This podcast is the third in the three-part series on the Stewardship Spirituality, Income and Numbers challenges (what I refer to as the “SIN” challenge) faced by Christian churches today. We briefly explore some significant conclusions and troubling data that show how mainstream Christian churches are experiencing steady declines in membership year after year. We will explore the statistics that show that churches have increasingly become revolving doors where members are essentially coming and going with decreasing levels of engagement and commitment.
