W8 till U C new Bible Translation

It was only a matter of time.

You’ve heard of updated styles of Bible translations for American Standard, King James and Revised versions. But there is a new translation that just hit the book shelves that will either make you smile or blow your top. Yes, an Emoji Bible for Millennials. Bible emoji: Scripture 4 Millenials (yes, millennial is misspelled) is riddled with shortcuts and emoji.

The new emoji Bible interprets all 66 books of the King James Version with “Unicode-approved emoji and commonly-used internet slang and contractions.”

We know the Pew Research Center found “much lower levels of religious affiliation, including less connection with Christian churches than older generations” in a May 2015 study of religious affiliation in the US population.  But is this the way to reach them?
Even the author, who wishes to be referred to as “cool-dude-with-sunglasses emoji: ?.” wrote, “I think we should worry more about spreading ✌️ [peace sign emoji] & ❤️ [heart emoji] & less about what church affiliation we’re doing it under.”

[cool-dude-with-sunglasses emoji] said, “I think we should worry more about spreading ✌️ [peace sign emoji] & ❤️ [heart emoji] & less about what church affiliation we’re doing it under.”

What do people think about this new publication?  iTunes Responses have varied from “why has god abandoned us.” and “…Sorry, but kids will find it laughable, and will not appreciate being patronized.” To “I came here expecting to hate this. But actually it is kind of cool, certainly worth a glance. It uses traditional text but inserts emoji where possible. For instance in Genesis when ? creates the ?. You get the idea.”

The book is available for download with iBooks on your Mac or iOS device, and with iTunes on your computer and costs $2.99.
