New Year’s Carols
Start of the month and start of the year, My tall rosemary bush!
And start of the year, a good year, In church, in church with the holy throne!
Start of the year, when Christ came, Most holy and spiritual;
To walk on earth, And to make our heart good. (to fulfill our wishes)
St Basil is coming, And he doesn’t condescend to us
He comes from Caesarea, And you my lady are a noble woman!
He holds an icon and paper to write, Sugar candy and a baked cake, delight.
Paper and ink, Look at me the young brave lad!
The ink wrote on the paper, It told about its destiny,
And the paper was saying, My saint, my saint Good Basil!
Sit down and have a drink, Sit down and tell me your troubles,
Sit down, sit down and sing, And wish us well greeting.

$20,000 MATCHING CHALLENGE FOR THE 20TH ANNIVERSARY
Much like public radio, the Orthodox Christian Network relies on the support of our listeners. Anonymous donors have issued a $20,000 matching challenge in honor of OCN’s 20th Anniversary! For every $1 you give, $2 will be donated! You can send your gift by direct mail, over the phone, or on our website.
Your gift during our annual End of the Year Appeal will ensure that OCN may continue to offer free, high-quality, theological media.
Be on the lookout for our new mobile app, “Spark”, to be launched in the near future. The app will raise awareness of Christian persecution worldwide and provide you and millions of Orthodox with different ways to act.
