Interview with Commander Demetries Andrew Grimes

Listen Now.  “Being from a military family, where we were moving every couple of years the first place we would find family is at our church.” In this interview Eleni Alexiou speaks with Commander Demetries Andrew Grimes about his Orthodox Christian faith journey.

He is US Navy, Retired, a son of a navy veteran father and proud Greek immigrant mother. Commander Demetries received his bachelor’s degree from Boston University in 1987. He attended the Joint Military Attaché School in 2006 and undertook Naval War College Postgraduate Studies from 2008 to 2010. He received his Executive MBA from London Business School in 2017.

He served in the navy from 1989 to 2017 as a Naval Officer, Naval Aviator, Diplomat (Greece & Israel), and Secretary of Defense Fellow. Commander Demetries has completed seven deployments, including two to Afghanistan.  He is currently running for the office of Representative in Congress for Florida’s 26th Congressional district.  Take time to listen to his personal connection to the Orthodoxy Church.
