Lights, Camera, Witness!

Lights, Camera, Witness!

The giant black trunks full of equipment rolled in like the Stones are coming to town. There are lights and screens, the stage is set. Today we will witness another piece of history for Hellenic College Holy Cross, the inauguration of our 21st President the Rev. Dr. Christopher T. Metropulos. Often times in the excitement of any event it is easy to forget why we came, or why we are doing what we are doing.

I think that the entire student and staff body understands Father Chris well enough by now to know that none of this has to do with him; rather it is evident through our very own OCN that Father Chris is a worldwide promoter of the Faith. He is a modern witness to Christ, through whatever means possible.

In the case of today’s inauguration, it is another means and opportunity to serve and witness to the Lord. So yes the lights will be bright, and the sound system is booming, and there will be cameras and recorders everywhere. All of this is to let the world know that the only Greek Orthodox seminary in the Western Hemisphere is more than alive and well. It is thriving and will continue to grow and thrive under the strength and guidance of the new President.

We are the living Faith and the greatest thing we can do is provide witness wherever possible. So, lights (on a lamp stand out in the wide open for all the world to see), camera, witness!
