Martyrs are Witnesses

Martyrs are Witnesses

In this episode, Fr. Barnabas Powell treats the topic of Martyrdom. He reminds us that the word Martyr means “Witness,” but there will be times when Christians may be so persecuted that they will witness to the Truth of Christ with their very lives. Christianity today is the most persecuted religion on the planet, with multiple cases in recent news in which Christians who witnessed to their faith were put to death for their fidelity to the Faith. The Beauty of our Faith flows from our confidence in God and our love for God. This creates a sense of hope and peace that helps Christians understand that being in Communion with the Holy Trinity is a greater value than our physical lives. We are all called to be Witnesses to the Faith, starting in our homes and our communities.
