A renowned miraculous myrrh-streaming icon of St. Anna, the mother of the Holy Virgin Mary, will be visiting Christ the Savior Orthodox Cathedral in Miami Lakes on Monday, February 16.
Fr. Athanasy, the former spiritual father of the Russian Orthodox Monastery in Jerusalem, painted the icon some years ago. When he returned to the United States, he brought the icon with him and placed it in his ROCOR parish in Philadelphia.
It was in Philadelphia that the icon began weeping myrrh. After Fr. Athanasy retired to St. Tikhon’s Monastery, the icon was placed in their monastery chapel.
All are welcome to come to the Cathedral in Miami Lakes on February 16 to participate in the divine services, venerate the icon, and hear a public lecture.
The schedule is as follows:
4 PM Akathist (Prayer Service) to St Anna
5-7 PM Icon available for veneration
7 PM Open lecture by Rev. Dr. Steven Voytovich, Dean of St. Tikhon’s Seminary
