OCAMPR Annual Conference “On Pain and Suffering” November 3-5, 2016

OCAMPR Annual Conference “On Pain and Suffering” November 3-5, 2016

OCAMPR, an international, pan-Orthodox organization endorsed by the Assembly of Canonical Bishops of the United States of America, is excited to announce this year’s Conference, “On Pain and Suffering,” to be held Nov. 3-5, 2016, at Holy Cross seminary, Brookline, MA. The complete program, registration and hotel information will be available at a later date.

In addition to our Keynote and Plenary Speakers, we  will offer number Workshops related to the Conference theme.  Recommendations for Workshop topics and presenters are welcome; please send suggestions to the email below.  Workshops last one hour and 15 minutes and may involve one or several presenters as well as interaction/discussion.

Further, OCAMPR welcomes 20-minute paper presentations and case studies on topics related to Orthodoxy and healing to be presented at our Annual Conference. This year’s Conference will focus on caregivers as confessors and healers in treatment and recovery. The Annual Conference offers a unique opportunity for Orthodox clergy, theologians, and healthcare professionals to come together for fellowship and to discuss how the Orthodox healing traditions interface with contemporary theories and practices of care. Submittals traditionally include current work on theories and practices of Orthodox care by clergy, physicians, psychologists and many other types of healthcare practitioners and researchers. Submissions are encouraged on any topic related to the mission of OCAMPR, and particularly topics on the theme of the Annual Conference. All presentations will be made available online and considered for publication in the Conference proceedings.

Submit all proposals to Dr. Brenda O’Reilly at ocamprinfo@gmail.com no later than August 1, 2016.
