Visit of His Beatitude Patriarch John X of Antioch on October 21-22, 2017


His Beatitude Patriarch John X of Antioch will visit Ss. Peter and Paul Antiochian Orthodox Christian Church, in Potomac, MD,  on October 21-22, 2017.  The OCN is honored to share this event.  Below is a program of events for the visit.

The following services will be Live Streamed:

Great Vespers – Saturday 5:30 PM followed by a Byzantine concert at 6:30.
Matins and Hierarchical Divine Liturgy – Sunday 9:30 and 10:30am

5:30pm – 6:30pm EST Great Vespers – Live Streamed.

6:30pm – 7:30pm EST Concert of Byzantine Hymns in the Church – Live Streamed.

7:30pm Presentation and Reception in the Church Hall to benefit the Syrian Relief Fund of the Department of Ecumenical Relations and Development (DERD)

*Sunday, October 22, 2017
9:30am – 2:30pm Patriarchal Divine Liturgy, followed by a Parish luncheon in honor of the Patriarch in the Church Hall. All are invited.

His Beatitude will be accompanied by our own Metropolitan JOSEPH and an Antiochian delegation.  Metropolitan JOSEPH has asked our sister Parish St. George of Washington D.C. to close that day and to join us here in Potomac.  His Beatitude will remain in Washington D.C. for the week of October 23 – 27, 2017 and attend a conference on the “The Future of Christians in the Middle East” sponsored by the Catholic Organization In Defense of  Christians.

The Faithful are invited and encouraged to register and attend the conference and especially the Solidarity Dinner to be to be held at the J.W. Marriott in Washington D.C. on Wednesday, October 25th at 6:30pm EST.
