Christmas Summed Up in Five Words

And the Word Became Flesh. John 1:14   Our son, Nicholas, was born on December 10, 2006.  He was conceived 9 months prior to that.  And before that time, he was a “non-entity.”  It’s the same for all of our children.  At some point they were born, at some point Read more

Die to the Earthly, Live to the Heavenly

When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory. Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: fornication, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. On account of these the wrath of God is coming. In these you once walked, Read more

I AM the Door

“Truly, truly, I say to you, he who does not enter the sheepfold by the door but climbs in by another way, that man is a thief and a robber; but He who enters by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.  To Him the gatekeeper opens; the sheep Read more

For Every Good and Perfect Gift is From Above Coming Down from You the Father of Lights

Every good endowment and every perfect gift is from Above, coming down from the Father of lights with Whom there is no variation or shadow due to change. James 1:17   One of the most existential questions one can reflect on is “Where does goodness come from?”  There are three Read more

An Important Turning Point
