Director Yelena Popovic discusses her approach to making Moses the Black, an Orthodox film starring Omar Epps, Wiz Khalifa, and Quavo. She explains how she created an original modern-day story about gang violence in Chicago that reflects the journey of the 4th-century Saint Moses the Black, and why she believes this approach connects with audiences who normally skip faith-based films.

Moses the Black releases January 30, 2026 in theaters.
