Have you ever wondered how many times we say, “Lord, have mercy!” in the Liturgy? We say it almost 50 times! We say it so many times because we want God to hear us. We want God to forgive us, and keep us with Him even though we don’t always do the right thing! We know that only God has the power to do these things for us.

Today we hear the Gospel reading about the Good Samaritan. You know, the story Jesus told about the man who was robbed and beaten up on a trip. Two holy men walked by, but it was a stranger who took care of him. At the end of the story, Jesus asked, “Which of these three acted as a good neighbor?” And of course the answer was, “The one who showed mercy.”

SAINT PHILIP THE APOSTLE HE BROUGHT OTHERS TO CHRIST!

Have you ever introduced one of your friends to another friend? This week we celebrate the feast day of one of the apostles, Saint Philip. We hear about Saint Philip a few times in the Gospel. The first time we hear about him is when Jesus told Philip,

“Follow me.” Then, Philip told his friend Nathaniel the special Person he had met. So, Philip introduced his friend to his friend, our Lord, Jesus Christ! We celebrate Saint Philip on Saturday, Nov. 14th (Nov. 27th OC).
