A weekly ministry of the Orthodox Christian Network

Have you ever stopped to think why we go to church on Sunday? What’s so special about that day? Well, we find out today, on Pascha, the greatest day of the year.

Today, you know, we celebrate the greatest feast of the Resurrection of our Lord, Jesus Christ, the day He rose from the dead! Today, and all through this beautiful season, we hear a special hymn that tells us just how great this day is. “This is it, the day which is chosen and holy, Day One of the Sabbaths. It is the queen-day, the Lord’s day, and the Feast of all feasts.”

We celebrate today, on this Easter Sunday, because it is the Feast of all feasts. But we celebrate every Sunday, because each one is like a little Easter. We remember back to the big Feast, and we celebrate some more together! Always remember that today is the biggest, best feast of the year! Today, we don’t mow the yard or go to a baseball game or fold our socks or do our homework! Today is the best day ever! “This is it!”

Christ is risen! Truly He is risen!

Today we celebrate Saints Nicholas, Raphael, and Irene.
