Earlier this month, Dr. Maria Khoury fled her home in Taybeh to Athens due to escalating violence following the events of October 7th. She speaks with Fr. Christopher Metropulos about her life in Palestine, the Christian community in the Holy Land, the complexities of living alongside Hamas as a political entity, and the current danger, from her own perspective and the perspective of her husband David who remains in the West Bank.

Dr. Maria Khoury and her husband David operate several businesses in Palestine, including Taybeh Beer and the Taybeh Golden Hotel. She is the author of “Christina goes to the Holy Land, part of 10 books in the “Christina” book series, which is now published in Albanian, Romanian, German and Spanish. She hopes to have it published in Greek as well. She lives in Taybeh in the West Bank, Palestine, but is currently in Athens.
