Can Orthodoxy Grow Without Losing its Soul? with Fr. Samuel Davis

By June 5th, 2026No Comments

How do we grow the Orthodox Church without changing the Church? Is it possible?

In today’s episode, Fr. Samuel argues that what makes us Orthodox Christians is the Mind and Tradition of the early Church, which converts from any background can and must absorb.

We discuss increasing political polarization in the Church body, unnecessary online conflicts, and a lack of motivation for evangelism. Fr. Samuel says that Orthodoxy must become “incarnational”—physically present in communities it wants to reach, not just waiting for seekers to show up. We also discuss the role American music culture can play, not in our services, but as a bridge in missionary contexts.
