Our hearts are broken as we witness the devastation caused by the powerful earthquakes in Venezuela. Countless families have lost loved ones, homes, and the basic necessities of life, while many more remain in urgent need of rescue, medical care, food, clean water, and shelter. Rescue efforts continue as communities face immense loss and hardship.
As Orthodox Christians, we are called to “bear one another’s burdens” (Galatians 6:2). Now is the time to respond with compassion, prayer, and generosity.
Please join the Orthodox Christian Network in praying for all those affected, for the first responders and relief workers, and for God’s comfort to surround every grieving family.
If you are able, we also encourage you to support reputable humanitarian organizations providing emergency relief on the ground. Every prayer, every act of kindness, and every gift—no matter the size—can make a meaningful difference.
Lord Jesus Christ, the Great Physician and Comforter, have mercy on the people of Venezuela. Grant strength to the suffering, wisdom to those leading relief efforts, and eternal rest to those who have lost their lives.
May Christ, who calms the storms and heals the brokenhearted, bring hope and restoration to all who are suffering.
Fr. Christopher Metropulos
